The Community Colleges of Spokane’s Athletic Hall of Fame was started in 1982 as a way to honor outstanding teams, athletes, coaches and contributors.
Nomination forms are available in the Athletic Department office and may be completed and submitted at any time. The nominees are entered on a spreadsheet in one of the three categories (team; athlete; coach/contributor) and forwarded to the CCS Hall of Fame selection committee for annual consideration. The selection committee receives input from the entire athletic department staff as it evaluates, screens, and prioritizes each nominee. The committee then forwards its annual selections to the CCS Athletic Director for final approval.
The CCS Hall of Fame committee is currently chaired by former Athletic Director, Maury Ray, and has seven other members. The Halls of Fame are located in the main hallway of the SFCC Gymnasium and the Mirror Room of the SCC Gymnasium. Individual pictures highlight the many accomplishments of all Hall of Fame members. Upon induction at an annual banquet, each inductee is presented with their picture and a CCS Hall of Fame watch. Currently, 43 teams, 57 athletes, and 29 coach/contributors are honored in the CCS Hall of Fame.
