2009-10 Season Preview

Following a 20-8 campaign and their second consecutive NWAACC East Region Title and NWAACC tournament appearance, the Sasquatch lost three sophomores and will have six players returning from last year’s squad. Head Coach Clint Hull returns for his second year at the helm of the Sasquatch and although they lost some key contributors, particularly in leadership roles, CCS has signed a solid group of newcomers to reload and attempt another run in the NWAACC East Region.

Returning starters Zack Humphrey, Luke Clift, Brad Johnson and Griffon Jones had a great off-season and look to continue to improve for Spokane. Arguably point guard Chris Pynch and forward Kevin Bond, however, have shown the most improvement from a year ago and should be big contributors. In addition, Redshirt freshmen Danny Marshall (East Valley) and Cary Conklin (Clarkston) are versatile big men who will return for Spokane and provide some depth inside. Damal Neil (William Jessup University) and Derek Gianukakis (Lewis-Clark State College) have moved on to four-year programs to continue their basketball careers.

Newcomers for the Sasquatch include a combination of local talent, as well as a couple relative outsiders joining the team. Point guard Chaz Johnson of Mt. Spokane and wing Dado Vucak from Heritage High School in Vancouver will provide depth on the perimeter and will compete for playing time right away. Brothers Ben (combo guard) and Nate (power forward) Frisbie of Lake City High School in Coeur D’Alene bring an added element of athleticism Spokane. Matt Barnes (Shadle Park) has proven to be a quick learner and is competing for a spot inside for the Sasquatch. Talented big man Marlowe Brim (Kent-Meridian) and athletic guard Rodney Delgardo (Rainier Beach) round out the squad for Spokane.
