2008-09 Season Review

StefanieA 5-5 league record and fourth place finish at the NWAACC Championships highlighted an up and down season for the 2009 women’s tennis team. With only two returning sophomores, lack of experience was a key factor in a number of close losses. However at the NWAACC tournament a number of the players played their best tennis of the year to bring home some individual honors. Brie Deline reversed two regular season losses with the biggest upset of the tournament with a win over previously undefeated Hanna Jordt of Bellevue in the semi-finals of the Women’s #1 Singles and brought home the second place trophy after a hard fought loss in the final.

Crystal McDonald brought home the Runner-Up trophy at #4 singles then Crystal-Savannahteamed with Savhanna Robertson fopr Third place at #2 Doubles. Leslie Morigeau rounded out the team scoring with a Third place finish at #6 Singles.

“I was very pleased with our progress during the year. We improved a great deal and laid the foundation for a very successful year next year,” reported coach Heidenson.
