Sasquatch Get Crucial Home Sweep

ActionThe Community College of Spokane Men’s Basketball team got back on track over the weekend with two big wins to stay in a tie for first place in NWAACC East Region Play. On Friday, in a game televised Live on SWX, the Sasquatch got off to a quick start and jumped out to a quick lead on Treasure Valley before coming away with an 84-58 win against the Chukars. Spokane held a 51-31 lead at the break and stretched the lead to 35 points midway through the second half.

Spokane was led in scoring by Marlowe Brim with 17 points. Preston Wynne added 15 points and Chaz Johnson and Rodney Delgardo each scored 11. Johnson added six assists to lead the team, and Nate Frisbie tallied 10 rebounds.  Stats

On Saturday afternoon, Spokane got off to a great start and beat Blue Mountain by a final score of 107-78. Hot shooting midway through the first half allowed the Sasquatch to get some breathing room and take a 53-34 lead into the break. Spokane held off two Blue Mountain runs in the second half and added one of their own to pull away.

The Sasquatch (4-1, 12-5) were led by the 27 points of Preston Wynne (22 in the first half) and 22 points and six assists of Chaz Johnson. Danny Marshall added 17 points and 11 rebounds and DeAngelo Jones also reached double figures with 11 points. Stats

“Both nights we were able to knock down some shots early and create some separation,” Head Coach Clint Hull stated. “In both games, our depth was a huge advantage and we were able to wear them down a little bit defensively,” Hull added.
