Spokane Falls to Peninsula in Semifinals. Will Play Big Bend for Third Place

WynneSpokane dug itself an early hole but continued to battle back throughout the game. On two separate occasions the Pirates were up by more than 10 points and both times the Sasquatch battled back to take the lead. With Peninsula leading by one with under 30 seconds remaining, they broke a full court press to get an and-one lay-in to finish the game.

Preston Wynne paced the Sasquatch with 19 points while Danny Marshall led the squad with 9 boards. The Pirates were led in scoring by Mitrell Clark's game high 22 points. Clark was also second in rebounds with 9 trailing Sammeon Waller's 10. Clark, Waller and Anthony Williams each had 4 assists.

“Obviously we are disappointed with the outcome of this game,” Spokane Head Coach Clint Hull stated. “But to not play our best and still battle back all night long is a testament to the character and toughness of this team,” Hull added. “I am glad that we get to play one more time with this group tomorrow,” Hull finished.

Peninsula will take on Pierce for the title tomorrow at 7pm while Spokane will battle East rival Big Bend for third place at 2pm. The Pirates and Raiders have not previously met this season while the Sasquatch and Vikes split the region series.
