SCC Wellness Program

SCC/District Office RP1 Employee Wellness

WELLNESS at the Community Colleges of Spokane is all encompassing. It begins with students as young as 6 months and as seasoned as 95 years. Because we are able to offer so many programs and workout choices we can include a variety of activities that are not available at many other work place sites. We have programs for both our employees and our students. Aquatics to Zumba and everything in between. Lectures and support groups. Challenges and Assessments. State of the art fitness center and weight room. A 25 meter swimming pool that is a host to a stand out yearly American Red Cross Learn to Swim program for over 200 children ages 6 months and older. Lap swimming is available each quarter free of charge to students and employees. Our instructional swimming courses are taught by certified, professional instructors with more than 100 years combined experience. We have a fantastic mentoring program for older youth, who assist and aide with the children’s swimming class. We teach American Red Cross lifeguarding classes and Water Safety Instructor classes for those who would like to work part-time through high school and college as lifeguards and swim instructors.

We at CCS are instrumental in helping students, athletes, and employees improve lives, gain knowledge for life skills and healthy choices and offer support to all, while on their road to WELLNESS.

As a community college, we are fortunate to have an exceptional wellness facility on the SCC campus in The Johnson Sports Center; building 5.
