Sasquatch Finish Second, Paced by Gable

CCS relinquished a one shot lead after the first day of the Walla Walla Community College Invitational Golf Tournament at the Wildhorse Golf Resort in Pendleton, Oregon.  CCS shot five-under par, 283 on day one.  Jason Molner led the way with a four-under par 68, followed by Kyler Gable with a 70 and Corey Meyers with a 71.

CCS got off to a fast start on the day two, but so did second place Walla Walla.  The Warriors were able to outlast the Sasquatch by one stroke and take a one point lead in the NWAACC golf standings.  Kyler Gable finished as the runner up for the second straight tournament with a four-under par performance.  Molner and Meyers struggled early in their rounds, but finished solidly.  Taylor Porter, Jonathan Lumper and Tyler Johnson provided CCS with one-over par 73’s.

Kris Jackson of Bellevue Community College was the medalist, edging out Gable by one shot.  Bellevue finished five shots back of CCS.

“The league is going to be very competitive this year.  We look forward to some great competition and are excited to get our strong freshman class some much needed college golf experience.  I am extremely proud of the way our guys played,” said Coach Kramer.
