CCS Runs Into a Buzz Saw in Yakima, Lose 74-60

The Lady Sasquatch took one on the chin Wednesday night in Yakima as a highly motivated Lady Yaks team sprinted to an early 27 point lead and never looked back. The Yaks Chelsey Nill and Alex Moore-Porter led the way on the offensive end. Nill scored 20 points, hitting four 3’s, and Moore-Porter and 18 and 7 rebounds.
Spokane was led in scoring by freshman Kelsey Stillar with 15. Ashlee Michelson added 12 points and 7 rebounds.
The win gives Yakima the second seed from the East Region to the NWAACC Tournament. Spokane will be the third seed and face the winner of Saturday’s game between Bellevue and Seattle in the first round.
The Lady Sasquatch will wrap up the regular season on Saturday versus Big Bend at 2pm at SFCC. It’s “Pack the House” night, as well as the final home game for CCS’s four sophomores.
