Kortney, a 1998 graduate of Mead High School, played volleyball for the Community Colleges of Spokane during the 1998 and 1999 season.  During the 1999 season, Kortney was named MVP and NWAACC All-Tournament First Team as right side hitter for the Spokane Sasquatch. 
 

Kortney’s coaching career began shortly after graduating from Eastern Washington University with her bachelor’s degree in health/physical education.  She relocated outside of Philadelphia and soon accepted the head coaching position for a team in it’s infant stages.  Within a years time she took her previous experiences to turn the program into fierce competitors.  These great experiences have brought the Pacific Northwest native back to her roots to continue and develop her coaching career with the Community Colleges of Spokane. 

Kortney has a husband Michel and their daughter Dakota (4).
