Keller Wins 250th Games As Spokane Sweeps Southwest OregonSpokane swept Southwest Oregon CC in the weekend series. Head Coach Dave Keller won his 250th game on Sunday afternoon. The win ties him with Keith Snyder as the winningest coach in CCS history.
Spokane took game one of the series against Southwest Oregon CC 7-0. Starter Mike Richard earned the win for the Sasquatch. Richard went seven innings striking out 10 and walking one batter. Richard allowed just two hits in the game. Travis Bradshaw and Bret Riggin came on in the 8th and 9th innings to close out the game. Spokane had 10 hits in the game. Cory Kreighbaum, Adam Smith and Kelly Gau all had two hits apiece. Smith chipped in with two RBI’s in the game.
Spokane took the night cap 11-1. Starter Mark Purser earned his second win of the season. Purser went five innings allowing one run and one hit. Purser had seven strikeouts in the game. Connor Hodgins threw two innings in relief. Alex Brueske finished the game on the mound. Brueske struck out two SWOCC batters in one inning of work. Offensively Spokane had 13 hits in the game. Spokane was lead by Cory Kreighbaum with three hits and two RBI’s. Matt Starr, Jordan Johnson, Kevin Ricker, and Cody Reeves all had two hits each.
Spokane won the first game on Sunday 14-3. Offensively, Spokane had 11 hits. Cody Reeves lead the team with three hits and two RBI’s. Kelly Gau and Jordan Johnson each had two hits in the game. Gau and Adam Smith chipped in with 4 RBI’s. Starter Rex Ireland earned the win for Spokane. Ireland struck out six and walked just one batter. Paul Smith and Adam Hill came on in relief to shut down the Laker offense. Hill had two strikeouts in his one inning of work.
The Sasquatch took the final game of the series 9-1 Starter Tucker Seitz went seven innings in the game. He allowed an unearned run on three hits. Seitz had six strikeouts in the game. Colby Crawford and Colton Hiles each threw an inning in relief. Crawford struck out two and Hiles had one strikeout. Spokane had double digit hits for the fifth straight game with 13. Matt Starr, Mark Purser, Braden Friesz, Cody Reeves and Ian Atkinson all had two hits in the game. Friesz, Starr and Cory Kreighbaum all scored three runs in the game for Spokane.
Spokane will return to action on Monday, March 17th against Green River CC at Central Washington University.
