Freshman Hailey Woods Leads Spokane to a Second Play Finish at the NWAACC Championships

Hailey Woods, a freshman from Weiser, Idaho, led the Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS) women’s golf team to a second place trophy at the NWAACC Golf Championships.  Woods fired a first round 82 at McCormick Woods Golf Course in Port Orchard, just one stroke out of the lead.  The final day of the tournament was played at Olympic Golf Course at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton.  Woods shot a final round 86, 168 tournament total, to tie for second place overall, naming her to the 2012 NWAACC All-Tournament Team.  Spokane’s Kelsey Berg also finished in the top ten, shooting 89-86 (175) to finish seventh overall.  Other Spokane golfers include Sonnie Mitchell 92-88 (180) 12th, Cindy Pitkin 88-93 (181) 14th, Brittany Dutton 95-93 (188) 18th, and Kiana Payne 104-87 (191) 19th.

“Our ladies played great as a team.  I am very proud of their second place finish in the NWAACC Championship tournament,” commented head coach Christie Dalsanders.
