Sasquatch Sweep at Home to Move Into Tie For First

The Community Colleges of Spokane Men’s Basketball team took care of business and protected their home court in two dominant wins this week.
 
The Sasquatch started off the week with a dominating 87-58 win over Wenatchee on Wednesday night at SCC. Spokane jumped out to a commanding 45-19 lead at halftime and cruised to the victory.

Preston Wynne contributed greatly to the halftime lead amassing 10 steals himself by the break. Wynne finished with 20 points and 12 steals for the night while Tyler Edwards tallied a game-high 22 points off the bench. Nate Frisbie added 12 points and six rebounds for the Sasquatch.

Spokane continued its winning ways at home with a 91-72 win over Yakima Valley College on Saturday at SCC. Spokane jumped out to another big halftime lead (53-27) and fought off a couple Yakima rallies to hold on for the win. Preston Wynne was 6-9 from the three-point line in the first half and scored 21 points in the period including the last three at the halftime buzzer.

Spokane had big contributions from a lot of players on the night including Brady Bagby scoring 19 points and Tyler Edwards adding 15 points and 10 rebounds. Marlowe Brim led the Sasquatch with 13 rebounds and point guard Eric Holbrook handed out eight assists and only committed one turnover.

In addition, Taylor Pettersen held Yakima’s leading scorer to just two points on 1-10 shooting from the floor.

The win moves Spokane into a tie for first place in league with a 2-1 record. The Sasquatch will travel to Treasure Valley and Blue Mountain this coming weekend.
