Spokane Swept on Westside

Spokane lost four games this past weekend versus Edmonds and Bellevue. Spokane lost the first game of the weekend to Edmonds 4-2. Spokane starter Austin Weber took the loss tossing five and two thirds innings. Weber allowed four runs on five hits and struck out five. Trevor LaHonta led the way for Spokane with four hits in the game including an RBI single in the second inning. Alex wolf added two hits for Spokane.

In Saturday’s second game Bellevue beat Spokane 7-2. Spokane starter DJ Smith suffered the loss for Spokane. Smith went six innings allowing 10 hits and three walks. Smith had five strikeouts in the game. Tyler Watkins, Donnie Santos and Trevor LaHonta all had two hits in the game for Spokane. Santos hit his first homerun of the season.

Edmonds took game one on Sunday on a bases loaded walk in the ninth inning. Dean Neilson took the loss for Spokane. Starter Grant Curtis went five plus innings in the game allowing three runs one of them earned. Alex Wolf led Spokane with three hits in the game. Oz Bartleson, Dylan Boe and Chad Nyquist had two hits each in the game for Spokane. Dylan Boe hit his second Homerun of the season in the second inning and had an RBI double in the eighth.

Spokane lost the final game of the weekend to Bellevue 4-1. Ricky Gonzalez started for Spokane and threw five innings. Gonzalez had three strikeouts in the game against two walks. Nate Shea finished the game in relief allowing one run in two and a third innings of work. Brenden Herzer led the Spokane offense with two hits. Trevor LaHonta doubled in the fifth inning for Spokane.

Spokane will play at home this weekend against Green River CC and Okanogan College. Spokane will play at Shadle Park High School on Saturday afternoon and at Spokane Falls on Sunday.
