Spokane Wins Night Cap to Earn Split with CBC

Spokane won the second game of the double header 6-5 on Saturday to earn a split with Columbia Basin CC. Spokane took the lead for good on a sacrifice fly by Mark Purser in the eighth inning. Purser started the game on the mound for Spokane. He went six innings allowing four runs on five hits. Colton Hiles earned his first save of the year by throwing a scoreless eighth and ninth inning. Hiles had three strikeouts in his two innings of work. At the plate Spokane had nine hits. Matt Starr led the way with three while scoring two runs. Cody Reeves and Cory Kreighbaum had two hits apiece.

Spokane dropped the first game 13-2. Starter Mike Richard took the loss for Spokane. Richard allowed six runs three of the earned in three innings of work. Spokane managed just six hits in the game. Braden Friesz led the way with two.
