Sasquatch Top Big Bend in East Region Showdown
The Community Colleges of Spokane earned a hard-fought victory over East Region foe Big Bend at home by a final score of 89-86. The game went back and forth throughout with Big Bend getting out to a six point first half lead before Spokane rallied to tie it at the break. The second half was much of the same before the Sasquatch took an 11 point lead at 85-74 with just over four minutes left. In a finish all too familiar for Sasquatch fans, Spokane struggled to finish off the game and Big Bend ultimately had a shot to tie the game in the final seconds that came up just short.
Spokane was led in scoring by Preston Wynne with 22 points. Brady Bagby added 21 points off the bench and made two big steals late in the game to help Spokane get the lead. Marlowe Brim (18 points) and Luke Evans (16 points) helped Spokane dominate the paint for most of the night. Blake Skidmore led Big Bend with 41 points on 18-37 shooting from the floor.
Spokane will travel to Wenatchee Saturday for a 4:00 start.
