Three More Spokane Sophomores Moving On

In addition to big man Griffon Jones who signed to play at NCAA Division II Dixie State in St. George, Utah, three additional Sasquatch Men’s players have signed letters of intent to continue their careers are the four-year level.

ActionChris Pynch has signed to play at NAIA Vanguard University in Southern California for Coach Rhett Soliday. The point guard from Riverside Christian (Yakima) played an integral role in the success of the Sasquatch over the past two season. He was named to the second team All-East Region and selected to play in the NWAACC all-star game. He averaged 14.0 points, 6.0 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game in conference play while shooting 47% from three-point range.

“I couldn’t be more excited to have Chris join the Vanguard basketball family,” stated Vanguard Head Coach Rhett Soliday.  “He is a smart, tough, and unselfish guard who understands what it takes to compete and win at a high level. His two years at Spokane under Coach Hull, in one of the best programs in the NWAACC, have been huge for his development and have made him ready to come in and have an immediate impact on our program. I can’t wait to compete alongside Chris,” Soliday added.

ActionKevin Bond has signed to play at Lethbridge College in Lethbridge, Alberta for coach Mike Hansen. Bond, a 6’5 wing/forward from Gonzaga Prep in Spokane is coming off a successful sophomore season playing for the Community Colleges of Spokane Sasquatch. He was a starter on a team that went 24-6 and earned a 5th place trophy in the NWAACC tournament. Bond averaged 10.3 points and 5.1 rebounds per game for Spokane.

“Kevin gives us the inside presence, rebounding and leadership we need to be a premier team in the conference. He is a great player but more importantly he is a great kid. He is going to be a force,” praised Head Coach Mike Hansen.

ActionZack Humphrey has signed to play at Lethbridge University in Lethbridge, Alberta where he will compete for Head Coach Dave Adams.

The Horns are excited about the signing of Humphrey, a 5'11" combo guard from Spokane, Washington (Shadle Park H.S.) where he earned first team All State honors in his Senior year. Humphrey spent the first two seasons of his post-secondary career at Community Colleges of Spokane, a U.S. JUCO where he was named first team NWAACC East Division All Star last season as the team went 24-4 and he averaged 16.8 points per game on 43% shooting from the three point line.
