Spokane Women Win NWAACC Championships
The 2009 NWAACC Championship, hosted by Walla Walla at Veterans Memorial Golf Course, proved to be successful for the Community Colleges of Spokane’s women’s golf team. The Lady Sasquatch held a tight lead at the end of day one of the tournament holding a lead against Green River Community College by four strokes. Katie Sorenson shot a 74 to be only one stroke behind the leader of the tournament. CCS came back the second day at Veterans Memorial with a six stroke lead on Green River, ultimately winning the NWAACC Championship tournament by ten stokes. The sophomores stood strong with Katie Sorenson 74-79 (153), Chelsea Kenner 78-81 (159), and Kelsey Harting 82-79 (161) all placing in the top five individually. The freshmen also played solid. Alyssa Osterback finished 9th 81-81 (162), Katie Nelson finished 13th 86-83

(169) and Darby Moberg finished 21st 91-87 (178).
Coach Dalsanders stated, "I knew it was going to be close. Green River CC was a good team and the course was set for low scores. I felt we had an advantage because the it was hot out and my ladies were in good physical conditon. In addtion, we had depth. Anyone of our six ladies were capable of shooting a score we could count. This was a great way to top off a wonderful season. I am very proud of this group of young ladies."
