Walla WallaThe Sasquatch (19-5, 11-2) crushed the Warriors (13-11, 6-6) to stay in a first place tie with Yakima Valley in the NWAACC East Division. The win clinches a berth for the Sasquatch in the conference tournament March 5-8 in Kennewick.

Damal Neil made 12 of 18 field-goal tries and finished with 27 points, including 20 in the first half as Spokane jumped out to a 56-23 lead at the break.

“We talked about having a focus and a mindset in the first five minutes of the game and we were able to do that,” said Spokane coach Clint Hull. “The biggest thing for us was our passion defensively, and the fact that as we made substitutions there was no let down whatsoever.”

CCS shot 49.3 percent from the field at Spokane Falls and had a 48-39 advantage on the boards and forced 15 turnovers while only committing nine. Kevin Cameron added 12 points and Derek Gianukakis chipped in 11 including a crowd-pleasing tip dunk in the middle of the first half push.

Spokane will travel to Pasco to take on Columbia Basin this Saturday at 6:00 pm.
