Omelia Earns Medalist, Propels Spokane to 7th Straight Team Title

Freshman Evan Omelia won his second career college tournament with impressive rounds of 71-67 (1-under and 4-under) to force a playoff with Green River's Broc Johnson who shot 8-under par, 63 during the second round.  Omelia won the first playoff hole with a par on Indian Canyon's 18th hole.

The team won their host tournament to capture their 7th straight team title of the season in as many attempts.  The Sasquatch shot a 301 on the first day of play at Hangman Valley Golf Course on a cold, windy and rainy day to take an 8 shot lead over Olympic College.  Spokane got great rounds from Omelia (67), Cooper Wright (71), Daniel Cruzen (71) and Cole Lorenzo (74) to shoot a 1-under, 283 as a team to earn a 14-shot victory over second place Green River CC.

Coach Kramer stated, "Winning 7 tournaments in a row is a testament to the commitment and consistency of our players.  Each week the team plays against their opponents, the golf course and the weather conditions and to win each event means the guys are consistent and prepared.  I am very proud of them and their dedication to their teammates."

The Bigfoot Invitational was the third of four NWAACC regular season conference tournaments.  Spokane won the other two as well with victories in the Centralia College and Green River CC Invitationals.  The regular season league tournaments finish with a neutral site event and the beautiful Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, WA.
The men's golf team wants to thank all of the CCS faculty and employees who attended the Bigfoot Invitational.  Many showed up to support and others volunteered to work the event, making it a fun, well-ran golf tournament for all of the participants.
