Spokane’s Murray and Jasso Named NWAC Athletes of the Week
Spokane Athletics is celebrating two standout performances this week, as Cora Murray and Nevaeh Jasso have been recognized by the NWAC.
Spokane Athletics is celebrating two standout performances this week, as sophomore forward Cora Murray (women's soccer) and freshman runner Nevaeh Jasso (women's cross country) have each been recognized by the NWAC as Athletes of the Week.
Nevaeh Jasso – Women's Cross Country
"In just her second collegiate race and first 6K ever, Jasso finished with a time of 23:27 at the WSU Cougar Classic. She finished 41st place overall out of 81 runners including many from NCAA Division I, II & III. Her time puts her 8th all time for Spokane and is the fastest in the conference in the 6K thus far."
Cora Murray – Women's Soccer
"Murray helped the Sasquatch start their season with two convincing region wins, defeating Treasure Valley 3-0 and Yakima Valley 5-1. The sophomore forward had the game-winning goal in both games, scoring one against TVCC and following up with two more against the Yaks."
With Jasso's breakout performance on the course and Murray's offensive spark on the field, both athletes embody the hard work and excellence that define Spokane College Athletics.
