Four Sasquatch Earn NWAC Athlete of the Week Honors
Kiah Holmes-Morrissey, Travis Horn, Madelyn Hutyler, and Joy Assonken were all named NWAC Athletes of the Week for May 4-10 following standout performances for the Sasquatch.
Spokane College had four student-athletes recognized in the latest NWAC Competitive Athletics Athletes of the Week awards, highlighted by standout performances in golf and track & field during the week of May 4-10.
Freshman golfer Kiah Holmes-Morrissey earned Women's Golf Athlete of the Week honors after another strong showing for the Sasquatch this spring. Holmes-Morrissey, a freshman from Bozeman, Montana, and graduate of Gallatin High School, has been a key contributor for Spokane throughout the season.
On the track, sophomore Travis Horn was named Men's Track Athlete of the Week. The North Central High School product from Spokane continued his impressive season with another standout performance for the Sasquatch.
Sophomore Madelyn Hutyler earned Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors for Spokane. Hutyler, a Ridgeline High School graduate from Liberty Lake, has continued to build momentum during the outdoor season with strong performances on the track.
In the field events, sophomore Joy Assonken was recognized as the NWAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week. The Cheney High School graduate from Cheney has been one of Spokane's top field event competitors throughout the season.
The four weekly awards continue a strong spring season for Spokane athletics as the Sasquatch prepare for postseason competition.
