Spokane College track and field added another historic chapter to its storied legacy on Tuesday as both the men's and women's teams captured team titles at the 2026 NWAC Track & Field Championships, hosted May 18-19 at Mt. Hood Community College.
The championships marked the 34th NWAC title in program history for the Spokane men and the 27th championship for the women's program. For legendary head coach Larry Beatty, the victories represented his 38th and 39th career NWAC championships.
Following the dominant performances, Beatty was named both the Men's and Women's NWAC Coach of the Year.
Sophomore Jediah Darrell highlighted the meet with a standout championship performance, earning Men's High Point Athlete of the Meet honors as well as Men's Outstanding Field Athlete of the Year recognition. Darrell scored major points for the Sasquatch throughout the championship and played a key role in Spokane securing the men's team title.
Sophomore Jaden Boyles was named the Men's Outstanding Athlete of the Meet after winning the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and helping Spokane capture the 4x100-meter relay title. Boyles' dominant sprint performances helped power the Sasquatch to another conference championship and solidified his place as one of the top athletes at the meet.
On the women's side, sophomore Daisy Lemley was named the Women's Outstanding Field Athlete of the Year after an impressive performance in the field events for Spokane.
The Sasquatch also finished the meet with 20 All-American honors and 14 individual event championships across the two-day competition, further showcasing the depth and dominance of the Spokane program on both the track and in the field.
Spokane's continued success at the NWAC Championships adds to one of the most accomplished traditions in junior college track and field and further cements the Sasquatch as one of the premier programs in the conference.
