John Troppmann
Bio

Troppmann graduated from Redwood High School (Larkspur, CA) where he was an All-League quarterback for his legendary football coach/father, Robert Troppmann.  He was recruited to Washington State University by head football coach Jim Sweeney and became a standout three-year (1975-1977) defensive back for the Cougars. Following graduation, he began an assistant football coaching career that culminated by becoming the head coach at Redwood High School. During that time, John became an outstanding triathlete highlighted by finishing 17th overall in the 1982 Hawaiian Ironman competition.  After coaching, he started a career in the fitness industry, eventually having his own personal training business in the San Francisco area. In 1988-89 John and his wife Susan moved to Spokane where he became an assistant under CCS head football coach John Buck. Troppmann became the first CCS strength and conditioning coach in 1990 and continued in that role for 25 years. In addition, he directed the SFCC Health/Fitness Technician program and took it to a new height of student success by starting seven new program classes. Troppmann also served as the SFCC Physical Education Department Chair for seven years. John retired in 2015, after 27 great years in the CCS physical education/athletic department.
