Owen Krasowski Named NWAC Pitcher of the Week
Krasowski earned NWAC Pitcher of the Week after striking out 11 in five shutout innings against Lane Community College.
Spokane freshman right-hander Owen Krasowski has been named Northwest Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week following a dominant relief performance for the Sasquatch.
Krasowski, a product of Mount Si High School in North Bend, delivered one of the most electric outings of the young season in Spokane's matchup against Lane Community College.
Entering the game in the fourth inning with Spokane trailing 4-2, the freshman immediately took control. Krasowski went on to throw five shutout innings out of the bullpen, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out 11 of the 17 batters he faced. He needed only 67 pitches to complete his five frames of work, pounding the strike zone with 48 strikes.
Krasowski's command and poise on the mound kept Spokane within striking distance and gave the Sasquatch an opportunity to mount a comeback. Behind his dominant relief effort, Spokane battled back before ultimately falling just short, 4-3.
His ability to attack hitters and generate swings and misses proved to be the difference-maker in stabilizing the game. Striking out nearly two-thirds of the batters he faced, Krasowski showcased the kind of composure and competitiveness that has quickly made him a key piece of Spokane's pitching staff.
As a freshman right-hander, Krasowski continues to make an immediate impact for the Sasquatch, and his Pitcher of the Week honor marks the first conference recognition of his collegiate career.
