Spokane Sweeps Skagit Valley in Road Doubleheader
Spokane’s offense exploded early in Game 1 and the pitching staff dominated Game 2 as the Sasquatch earned a doubleheader sweep over Skagit Valley on Monday at Dream Field.

After surrendering three runs in the bottom of the first, Spokane answered immediately and never looked back.
The Sasquatch broke the game open with a six-run second inning. Ty Shepard started the rally with an RBI single, followed by a run-scoring hit from Chase Edwards. Castle Keaton delivered an RBI single and later stole home, while Cooper Davis added a sacrifice fly and Max Workman capped the inning with an RBI single to give Spokane a 7-3 advantage.
Spokane continued to apply pressure in the fourth and fifth innings. Davis doubled home a run in the fourth, and the Sasquatch added two more in the fifth on an error and an RBI walk by Keaton to extend the lead to 10-3.
An aggressive baserunning play in the ninth, with Jake Bustamant stealing second and Harper Dissmore scoring on the throw, put the finishing touches on the 11-3 win.
Keaton drove in three runs, Davis added two RBIs, and Edwards scored three times. On the mound, David Barnes settled in after the first inning to earn the win, while Tate Swanson and Braiden Boyd combined for four scoreless innings. The Spokane staff held Skagit Valley to just three hits and struck out 10.
Game 2: Spokane 6, Skagit Valley 1
Game 2 followed a tighter script early before Spokane used a five-run fifth inning to pull away.
The Sasquatch struck first in the second inning when Anthony Knott singled home Cooper Davis. Skagit Valley answered with a sacrifice fly in the bottom half to tie the game at 1-1.
The breakthrough came in the fifth. Logan Spradling roped a two-run double to spark the rally, and Castle Keaton followed with a two-run double of his own. Davis added an RBI single later in the inning as Spokane plated five runs to take control, 6-1.
That was more than enough for the pitching staff.
After starter Nathan Fitzpatrick worked through three innings, Owen Krasowski delivered five shutout innings in relief, allowing no hits while striking out five. Harrison Trunkey-Evans closed the door with a scoreless ninth, striking out three.
Spokane tallied 10 hits in the nightcap, with Spradling and Davis each recording two hits.
