Spokane Splits Doubleheader at Walla Walla
Spokane baseball earned a split on the road Friday, taking game one in dramatic fashion, 8-7, before falling 2-1 in a tightly contested nightcap.

Spokane rallied late to secure a come-from-behind win in game one, using a clutch ninth inning to edge Walla Walla.
After jumping out to an early 1-0 lead, Spokane fell behind 3-1 after the first inning and later trailed 5-3 through four. The Sasquatch responded with a strong fifth inning, plating three runs to regain a 6-5 advantage behind RBI hits from Ty Shepard and Trent Woodhouse.
Walla Walla answered again, tying the game in the sixth on a solo home run before taking a 7-6 lead in the seventh.
The turning point came in the ninth, when Spokane delivered under pressure. Shepard came through with a two-RBI single to score Max Workman and Anthony Knott, giving the Sasquatch the decisive 8-7 lead.
Shepard led the offense with four hits and three RBIs, while Woodhouse added two hits and three RBIs of his own.
On the mound, Owen Krasowski was strong in relief, tossing 5.1 innings while allowing just two runs and striking out six to earn the save.
Game 2: Walla Walla 2, Spokane 1
Game two turned into a pitchers' duel, with both teams struggling to generate offense.
Walla Walla struck first in the opening inning on an RBI double, but Spokane answered in the second when Jake Bustamante delivered an RBI single to tie the game at 1-1.
The deciding run came later in the second inning, as Walla Walla capitalized on a wild pitch to take a 2-1 lead.
Despite multiple opportunities, Spokane couldn't break through offensively, finishing with just three hits on the game.
Sam Weaver delivered a strong outing despite the loss, striking out 14 over six innings while allowing just two runs. Luke McGuire added two scoreless innings in relief to keep Spokane within striking distance.
