Sasquatch Open NWAC Tournament Against Lane
The Sasquatch will continue postseason play Friday at 12:35 p.m. after dropping their opening-round matchup against Lane, 12-2.
Spokane opened the 2026 NWAC Baseball Championship Tournament on Thursday afternoon, falling 12-2 to Lane at David Story Field. The Sasquatch now move into the losers bracket and will face the winner of Edmonds vs. Lower Columbia on Friday at 12:35 p.m.
Spokane struck first in the top of the third inning when sophomore shortstop Castle Keaton delivered an RBI single to score Trent Woodhouse and give the Sasquatch a 1-0 lead.
Lane responded with a big fourth inning, highlighted by a three-run home run from Peyton Tyner after an RBI single from Nolan Donivan, turning the game around for a 4-1 advantage.
The Sasquatch answered in the bottom half of the inning as Logan Spradling scored on an RBI single from Hunter Derr to cut the deficit to 4-2, but that would be as close as Spokane would get.
Lane pulled away late, scoring three runs in the seventh and four more in the eighth. Donivan delivered the biggest swing of the game with a three-run homer in the seventh, finishing the day with five RBIs. Tyner added four RBIs and four hits for the Titans.
Woodhouse led Spokane offensively, going 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base. Keaton also collected two hits and an RBI, while Derr added Spokane's other RBI knock.
On the mound, Sam Weaver struck out seven over five innings in the start. Spokane's pitching staff combined for nine strikeouts in the game.
Lane finished with 15 hits while Spokane totaled five.
The Sasquatch will continue tournament play Friday afternoon in an elimination game against the winner of Edmonds and Lower Columbia.
