He began his collegiate journey at Blinn College in Texas, where he earned All-Conference honors, before transferring to Lenoir-Rhyne University (NCAA Division II). As a guard at Lenoir-Rhyne, he continued to excel, once again earning All-Conference recognition.

Equally committed to academics, Rice earned his Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Lenoir-Rhyne, further complementing his leadership and coaching background.

Following graduation, Rice transitioned into coaching, beginning with the men’s basketball program at Simpson University. In 2023, he joined Spokane as an assistant coach, where he continues to bring his playing experience, leadership skills, and passion for the game to the Sasquatch program.
