Omar Venable Jr. completed his first season as an assistant coach for the Sasquatch in 2024–25, helping lead Spokane to 24 wins and an NWAC Elite Eight appearance. His responsibilities include player development, on-court coaching, practice planning, and assisting with recruiting and scouting.

Before joining Spokane Colleges, Venable built experience at both the high school and prep levels. He coached in the prep school league at BFL under Berry Jones and later served as an assistant coach at Nathan Hale High School, working under Dom Brooks as the lead assistant while also overseeing the freshman and JV programs. Along the way, he coached standout players including Katrell Harmon (4-star recruit), Julian Augusto (2-star recruit), and Rav Randhawa (Canadian Top 25 player).

As a player, Venable was a decorated high school athlete, winning three state championships, earning two Dekalb County All-Star selections, and playing on a team ranked No. 2 nationally. He was recruited to the University of Nebraska before competing at Northeast Community College (Nebraska) and Roxbury Community College (Massachusetts).

Venable studied Child Psychology and brings a strong background in understanding both the athletic and personal development of student-athletes. Away from basketball, he is a proud father to his 6-year-old daughter, Camille.
