Sasquatch Battled to the Buzzer in 93–87 Road Loss at Linn-Benton
Spokane Men’s Basketball lit up the scoreboard with 72 first-half points, but a cold second half proved costly in a narrow 93–87 season-opening loss at Linn-Benton.
Spokane Men's Basketball opened the 2025–26 season with a high-scoring fight on the road Friday night, falling 93–87 to Linn-Benton in Albany despite a monster first half and five players scoring in double figures.
The Sasquatch exploded out of the gate with 72 first-half points, shooting an incredible 64% from the field through the opening 20 minutes. Grant Olsen and Javonte Boles were unstoppable early, combining for 30 first-half points as Spokane took a 72–71 lead into the break.
But the second half told a different story. Linn-Benton tightened defensively, holding Spokane to just 15 points after halftime while converting key possessions down the stretch. Roadrunners guard Kaiden Ford delivered a standout performance with 38 points on 12-for-18 shooting, including seven threes.
Despite the offensive slowdown, Spokane stayed within striking distance until the final minute thanks to strong interior play and efficient shooting.

As a team, Spokane shot 56.7% from the floor and 41.2% from three, but Linn-Benton answered with elite shooting of its own, hitting 52% from beyond the arc and 83% at the line.
The loss moves Spokane to 0–1 on the season, but the strong first half and balanced scoring show early promise for a team with plenty of offensive weapons.
