Spokane Closes Oregon Trip with Statement Victory
Grant Olsen’s 22-point performance powered Spokane to a strong 81–65 win at Chemeketa on Saturday.
Spokane Men's Basketball closed out its Oregon road trip with a strong team performance on Saturday afternoon, earning an 81–65 win over Chemeketa at the Storm Center.
The Sasquatch led 39–31 at halftime and continued to control the tempo in the second half, shooting an efficient 47.5 percent from the field and 40 percent from three while holding the Storm to 65 points.
Grant Olsen delivered another standout effort, finishing with 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting and 7-of-8 from the free throw line. Jack Del Mese knocked down five threes on his way to 18 points, while Eli Hunter added 14 points and six rebounds.
Off the bench, Kymel Williams chipped in seven points and four assists, and Javonte Boles added nine points and four boards.
Defensively, Spokane forced 21 Chemeketa turnovers and held the Storm to 42.9 percent shooting. Chemeketa's Gavin Aguilar kept the Storm within reach for much of the afternoon with a 30-point performance, but Spokane's depth and efficiency proved too much down the stretch.
