Sasquatch Fall on the Road to Unbeaten SWOCC
Behind Jack Del Mese’s hot shooting, Spokane made a late push, but the Sasquatch couldn’t close the gap against an undefeated SWOCC squad.
Spokane ran into one of the NWAC's hottest teams on Friday afternoon, and despite a strong second-half push, the Sasquatch came up short in an 83–68 loss to Southwestern Oregon.
The Lakers came out firing, shooting 50 percent from the field and building a 40–26 lead at the break. Spokane found better rhythm after halftime, putting up 42 second-half points, but the early gap was too much to overcome against an SWOCC squad that stayed efficient from start to finish.
Jack Del Mese kept Spokane within striking distance, knocking down six threes on his way to a team-high 18 points. Grant Olsen added 11, going a perfect 6-for-6 from the line, while Kymel Williams gave the Sasquatch a spark off the bench with 11 points and five rebounds.
Defensively, Spokane forced 14 turnovers and matched the Lakers' energy on the perimeter, but Southwestern Oregon controlled the glass and continued to hit timely shots. MJ Tia finished with a game-high 22 points and 10 rebounds, leading five Lakers who scored six or more.
Spokane moves to 1–2 on the year and continues its Oregon road swing tomorrow.
