Strong Finish Carries Sasquatch to Win Over Mt. Hood
Spokane erased a halftime deficit and delivered a composed second-half performance to earn a 75–70 win over Mt. Hood on Sunday morning.
Spokane closed out its weekend with a hard-fought 75–70 victory over Mt. Hood on Sunday morning, overcoming a halftime deficit with a strong second-half surge to improve to 9–2 on the season.
After trailing 37–30 at the break, the Sasquatch responded with their most complete stretch of the game, outscoring Mt. Hood 45–33 in the second half behind steady execution, defensive pressure, and timely trips to the free-throw line.
Grant Olsen led all scorers with a game-high 25 points, going 8-for-17 from the field and knocking down 9 of 11 free throws. Olsen also added seven rebounds, four steals, and two blocks in an all-around performance that anchored Spokane on both ends.
Javonte Boles controlled the paint, finishing with 20 points and 15 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season. Boles went 8-for-19 from the floor and was a consistent presence inside as Spokane worked its way back into the game.
At the guard spot, Eloy Chaparro played a key role in the comeback, scoring 11 points while dishing out six assists and converting 8 of 10 free throws. Spokane finished the game shooting over 80 percent from the line, a critical factor in sealing the win late.
The Sasquatch defense tightened up in the final 20 minutes, forcing Mt. Hood into tough looks and limiting second-chance opportunities. Spokane also came up with eight steals and three blocks, using defensive stops to fuel the second-half turnaround.
