Grant Olsen Named NWAC Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week
A dominant weekend on both ends of the floor has earned Spokane sophomore Grant Olsen NWAC Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week honors.
Spokane sophomore guard Grant Olsen has been named the NWAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference on December 17, 2025.
Olsen powered the Sasquatch to a perfect 3–0 crossover weekend, leading Spokane to wins over Highline (95–89), Shoreline (77–69), and Mt. Hood (75–70). The Hermiston, Oregon native was dominant on both ends of the floor, averaging 24.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.7 steals, and 1.7 assists per game over the three contests.
The sophomore guard scored 23 or more points in each game, posting 23 points against Highline, a weekend-high 26 versus Shoreline, and 25 against Mt. Hood. Olsen was highly efficient throughout the weekend, shooting 59.5 percent from the field and 81.5 percent from the free-throw line.
A product of Hermiston High School, Olsen's consistent scoring and defensive presence were key factors in Spokane's successful weekend and continued momentum in conference play.
