Spokane Outpaces Tacoma 100–89 Behind Big Performances at the Line
Spokane stayed aggressive on both ends of the floor and made the most of its opportunities at the stripe, securing a win over Tacoma.
Spokane closed out December with a 100–89 victory over Tacoma on Monday afternoon in Coeur d'Alene, leaning on efficient free-throw shooting, strong interior play, and timely scoring runs to secure the win.
The Sasquatch set the tone early, edging ahead 48–44 at halftime after a competitive opening 20 minutes that saw both teams shoot over 45 percent from the field. Spokane stayed aggressive offensively, consistently attacking the paint and drawing fouls, which proved to be the difference as the game wore on.
Grant Olsen delivered a dominant performance, pouring in a game-high 30 points on 9-of-14 shooting while going 12-for-13 from the free-throw line. Javonte Boles anchored the interior with 18 points and 13 rebounds, finishing strong around the rim and providing a steady presence on the glass.
Spokane's depth again played a key role, with Kymel Williams turning in a highly efficient outing off the bench. Williams finished with 21 points and eight rebounds, knocking down 5-of-9 from the field and converting 9-of-10 free throws. Eloy Chaparro added 11 points, six rebounds, and three assists, while Carson Way chipped in nine points in limited minutes.
The Sasquatch finished the game shooting 42-for-52 from the free-throw line, converting their opportunities at an 80.8 percent clip to seal the victory.
