Spokane Drops Road Contest at North Idaho College
Spokane battled through a stronger second half but couldn’t erase an early deficit, falling 82–72 to North Idaho College on Monday night in Coeur d’Alene.
Spokane came up short on the road Monday night, falling 82–72 to North Idaho College despite a stronger second-half effort.
North Idaho College set the tone early, shooting efficiently and building a 40–31 halftime advantage. Spokane responded with 41 second-half points and cut into the deficit multiple times, but the Cardinals maintained control behind consistent scoring and a decisive rebounding edge.
Kymel Williams led the Sasquatch offensively, scoring 16 points off the bench while knocking down a pair of threes. Carson Way added 14 points, hitting 3-of-7 from beyond the arc and pulling down six rebounds. Jasahn Redmond was efficient in limited minutes, finishing with 11 points on 3-for-3 shooting and drawing fouls to get to the line.
Spokane struggled to find rhythm offensively, shooting 37.9% from the field, while North Idaho College connected on 58.2% of its attempts and outrebounded the Sasquatch 45–20. The Cardinals also converted timely perimeter shots, finishing 10-of-22 from three-point range.
Despite forcing turnovers and generating second-half momentum, Spokane was unable to overcome the early deficit as North Idaho College closed out the game at the free-throw line.
