Sasquatch Battle, Fall 83–72 on the Road
A tightly contested first half gave way to a high-scoring second half Saturday afternoon, where Columbia Basin outpaced Spokane to claim the conference matchup.
Spokane battled through a tight first half Saturday afternoon but couldn't slow Columbia Basin's second-half surge, falling 83–72 on the road.
The Sasquatch carried a slim 29–28 lead into the break after a defensive-minded opening 20 minutes. Spokane limited Columbia Basin to just 28 points in the first half and controlled the glass early behind strong rebounding efforts from Grant Olsen and Jasahn Redmond.
Columbia Basin found its rhythm in the second half, pouring in 55 points while shooting efficiently inside. The Hawks shot 47 percent from the field for the game and were led by Alex Wells' 29 points.
Spokane shot 41.9 percent from the floor and was led by Jack Del Mese's 14 points, including four three-pointers. Olsen added 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds, while Kymel Williams contributed 13 points off the bench. Redmond filled the stat sheet with eight rebounds and four assists.
The Sasquatch finished with 38 rebounds and forced 15 Columbia Basin turnovers, but second-half shooting and a 43–38 rebounding edge helped the Hawks pull away late.
