Spokane Falls Short in Conference Matchup
Spokane struggled to find offensive rhythm Wednesday night, falling 83–57 to Big Bend at home.
Big Bend set the tone early, shooting nearly 49 percent from the field in the first half and building a 46–32 lead by the break. Spokane had difficulty containing Miguel Taylor, who poured in 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting, including a perfect 5-for-5 from three-point range. Jakari Singleton added 24 points of his own, attacking the rim and converting 7-of-8 from the free throw line.
Despite strong rebounding efforts from Spokane, Big Bend controlled the pace and capitalized on efficient shot-making. The visitors finished 32-of-66 from the field and knocked down nine three-pointers, while also forcing 25 Spokane turnovers.
Spokane shot 33 percent from the floor and just 7-of-27 from beyond the arc. The Sasquatch also struggled at the free throw line, converting 12-of-21 attempts.
Jasahn Redmond led Spokane with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting and added seven rebounds. Jack Del Mese chipped in nine points, connecting on three three-pointers, while Eloy Chaparro provided a spark off the bench with nine points and two steals.
On the glass, Javonte Boles pulled down nine rebounds and Kymel Williams added four boards to go with eight points. Spokane outrebounded Big Bend 38–29, including 12 offensive rebounds, but was unable to turn second-chance opportunities into sustained scoring runs.
Big Bend extended the lead in the second half behind continued perimeter shooting and balanced scoring, outscoring Spokane 37–25 over the final 20 minutes.
