Bio
Coach Bayley joined the Spokane Colleges track and field coaching staff in 2009 and has since become a cornerstone of the program’s middle-distance success. Specializing in the development of 800m and 1500m runners, Matt has built a reputation for helping athletes peak at the championship level while preparing them for the rigors of four-year programs.
Throughout two tenures with the Sasquatch (2009–2016 and 2021–Present), Matt has mentored a long list of elite performers, including multiple NWAC Conference Champions and All-Americans. Further cementing the program’s status as a regional powerhouse in the middle-distance events.
Beyond the conference podium, Matt is dedicated to the recruitment and advancement of student athletes. Under his guidance, numerous runners have successfully transitioned to NCAA and NAIA programs, proving that the foundation built at Spokane Colleges translates to the highest levels of collegiate athletics.
Matt was raised in Spokane attending both Mead and Mt Spokane High School. Matt has a love for running long distances, having competed in Marathons and Ultra Marathons. An Ideal day for him is a long run up in the mountains.
