Bio
Andy Clark brings more than three decades of coaching experience and a lifelong passion for the sport to the Spokane Colleges track and field program. A former standout half-miler at the University of Washington, Clark now lends his expertise to the Sasquatch as an assistant coach, focusing on the jumps and multis.
A 1988 graduate of Lake Roosevelt High School, Clark placed 12th at the state cross country meet and finished runner-up in the 800 meters, setting a school record of 1:56.4. He went on to compete for the University of Washington from 1988 to 1992, where he was a four-year letter winner. As a Husky, Clark ran 1:50.18 and 1:48.8 in the 800 at the PAC-10 Championships his junior and senior years, and his 1:51.9 at the 1992 Alex Wilson Invitational (Notre Dame) stood as the fastest fully automatic-timed indoor mark in UW history at the time, remaining on the program’s all-time top ten list for more than a decade.
Clark’s coaching career spans 30 years at the 1A/B high school level, with stops at Trout Lake, St. John-Endicott, Lake Roosevelt, and Wilbur-Creston. His teams have produced numerous state champions, including a cross country team title and several standout individual performances. Among his most notable athletes is Dusty Lopez of Trout Lake, a former NCAA Division III All-American and now head coach at Williams College.
Since joining Spokane Colleges, Clark has continued his tradition of success, coaching three All-American jumpers during the 2024 season and contributing to the Sasquatch’s 2025 men’s and women’s NWAC team championships.
Clark and his wife, Casey, have been married for 27 years and have four children: Austin, Hailey, Jacob, and Madison. His youngest daughter, Madison, earned 13 state medals during her career at Wilbur-Creston, breaking multiple school records before following in her father’s footsteps to the University of Washington.
