Head Sprints & Relays Coach, Spokane Colleges (1993-2016 and 2023-Present) Coached Sprints and Relays at Rogers HS (2017-2021)
Claude DeFour is a veteran track & field coach based in Spokane, Washington, with deep roots both as a former collegiate sprinter and as a longtime coach in the Spokane area. Claude ran track at the University of Idaho as a sprinter in the 1970s. After his competitive career he transitioned into coaching, serving for many years on the coaching staff at Spokane Colleges where he specialized in sprints, relays and speed development. Since 1993 Spokane has scored over 1000 points in Sprints and Relay at the NWAC Championships for Men and Women including a record 112 points at the 1999 Championships. Claude’s coaching is known for attention to detail on relay exchanges and for developing sprinters’ technical speed and race awareness.
Claude is also a proud father parent of two boys and a Grandparent as well.
