Spokane Cross Country Competes at WSU Cougar Classic
The Sasquatch turned in strong performances at the WSU Cougar Classic Friday evening, with the women racing the 6k and the men the 8k at the Colfax Golf Course.
Spokane Colleges Cross Country continued its 2025 campaign Friday evening at the WSU Cougar Classic, held at the Colfax Golf Course. The event featured strong competition, with the women racing a 6k at 5:00 PM and the men following with an 8k at 5:45 PM.
On the women's side, Neveah Jasso led the Sasquatch with a time of 23:27.3, setting the pace for her teammates. She was followed closely by Melissa Walker (24:09.5), Ashleigh Hightree (24:16.7), Lana Fletcher (24:44.7), and Courage Hightree (24:50.5), rounding out Spokane's top five finishers.
The men's team also delivered a strong showing, with Anders Nielson crossing first for Spokane at 26:16.1. He was quickly joined by teammates Nate Russell (26:25.1), Jacob Nicholls (26:28.5), Holland Hurd (26:28.9), and Calvin Lange (26:31.5), all finishing within 15 seconds of each other.
Up next, the Sasquatch will compete at the 50th annual Charles Bowles Willamette XC Invitational on October 4.
