Wright Leads Record-Breaking Day for Spokane XC
Freshman Alex Wright etched his name in Spokane history, breaking the school record and leading a wave of personal bests for the Sasquatch men’s cross country team at the Linfield George Oja Invitational.
The Linfield George Oja Invitational in Independence, Oregon, saw a standout performance from the Spokane men's cross country team, highlighted by multiple personal records and a new school milestone. Leading the charge was freshman Alex Wright, who finished 22nd overall with a remarkable time of 24:32.40, a new personal best and a Spokane Colleges school record.
Sophomore Nathan Russell followed with an impressive 46th-place finish, clocking a personal best of 24:57.20. Freshman Anders Nielson continued Spokane's strong showing, finishing 72nd with a PR of 25:16.40.
Rounding out the top five were sophomore Travis Horn and freshman Isaac Rigsby, placing 93rd and 101st with times of 25:36.40 and 25:41.20, respectively, both personal records.
The team's depth was on full display as several more Sasquatch runners hit new milestones. Freshman Aaron Wright finished 110th with a PR of 25:49.80, while Holland Hurd followed in 119th at 25:53.10, also a personal best. Freshman Calvin Lange added another PR to the tally, finishing 138th in 26:05.70.
Sophomore Nolan Oyler and teammates Conor Thomsen and Sam Ulrich rounded out Spokane's efforts, all setting personal bests. Oyler clocked 26:15.60 for 153rd place, while Thomsen and Ulrich crossed together at 26:34.50 and 26:34.80, placing 180th and 181st.
With a school record and a wave of personal bests, the Sasquatch continue to demonstrate their depth, drive, and potential for a strong finish to the season.
