Spokane Men Crowned NWAC Champions; McLachlan Named Coach of the Year
A dominant team performance earned Spokane the 2025 NWAC men’s cross country crown, led by Alex Wright’s individual title and Coach Sean McLachlan’s recognition as Coach of the Year.
The Spokane men's cross country team closed out their season on a high note Monday afternoon at The Course in Spokane Valley, capturing the 2025 NWAC men's championship. With five runners placing inside the top eight, the Sasquatch displayed impressive depth and composure across the 8K course.
Leading the pack was freshman Alex Wright, who crossed the line first overall with a time of 25:23.3. Wright was also recognized by conference coaches as the NWAC Men's Athlete of the Year, honoring his standout season and leadership for Spokane.
Rounding out Spokane's strong scoring lineup were Holland Hurd in fourth (25:53.2), Isaac Rigsby in sixth (26:17.5), Travis Horn in seventh (26:18.2), and Anders Neilson in eighth (26:18.8). The group's top-eight finishes helped secure the team's championship performance.
Head coach Sean McLachlan was also honored as the NWAC Men's Coach of the Year, recognized for his leadership and commitment to the program's continued success.
With steady efforts from start to finish, Spokane wrapped up its season as the 2025 NWAC men's champions, a fitting finish to another strong campaign.
