Spokane Softball Sweeps Yakima Valley Behind Offensive Explosion
Spokane combined for 19 runs across two games, using a late rally in Game 1 and a dominant run-rule victory in Game 2 to complete a doubleheader sweep over Yakima Valley on Friday.

The Sasquatch used a big sixth inning to break open a tight game and secure the opener.
Spokane struck first in the opening inning as Samantha Rensvold launched a leadoff home run, and Lilley Triplett followed with an RBI double to make it 2-0.
Yakima Valley answered in the second, putting up four runs to take a 4-2 lead, and later extended it to 6-2 after a two-run homer in the sixth.
Trailing late, Spokane responded with a decisive five-run sixth inning. Addyson Stewart delivered a two-run single, and Shelby Swanson followed with a two-RBI knock to even the game. A sacrifice fly from Emma Oergel gave Spokane the lead at 7-6.
The Sasquatch added insurance in the seventh when Stewart crushed a two-run home run, sealing the 9-6 comeback win.
Stewart led the way with four RBIs, while Emma Cooke added three hits and Rensvold contributed a home run.
In the circle, Rensvold earned the win, tossing 5.2 innings before Kynlea Toner closed out the final outs.
Game 2: Spokane 10, Yakima Valley 1 (5 innings)
Spokane carried its momentum into Game 2, erupting for seven runs in the fourth inning to take control and end the game early.
After Yakima Valley scored in the first, Spokane answered in the second with an aggressive baserunning play as Addyson Stewart stole home to tie the game.
The Sasquatch broke things open in the fourth. RBI hits from Emma Cooke, Emma Oergel, and Samantha Rensvold started the surge before Zoie Maughan delivered a two-run double. Cadence Hyndman capped the inning with a two-RBI single as Spokane built an 8-1 lead.
Spokane added two more in the fifth, including a straight steal of home by Cooke and an RBI single from Maughan to reach the final 10-1 margin.
Maughan finished with three RBIs, Hyndman added two, and Spokane totaled 14 hits in the game.
Cassy Seifert was dominant in the circle, allowing just two hits and one run over five innings while striking out five.
