Spokane Softball Sweeps Blue Mountain Behind Balanced Attack and Dominant Pitching
Spokane continued its strong conference play on Saturday, sweeping Blue Mountain in a doubleheader with a 10-1 run-rule win in Game 1 followed by a 12-0 shutout in Game 2.

Game 1: Spokane 10, Blue Mountain 1 (5 innings)
The Sasquatch used steady offense and pressure throughout to pull away for a run-rule victory in the opener.
After Blue Mountain struck first in the opening inning, Spokane answered immediately as Emma Cooke delivered an RBI single to score Samantha Rensvold.
Spokane took the lead in the second on a sacrifice fly from Allison Lapano, and then broke things open in the third. Cooke doubled in a run, Shelby Swanson followed with an RBI triple, and a sacrifice fly from Skyler Struck extended the lead to 5-1.
The offense kept rolling in the fourth as Zoie Maughan drove in a run with a single to make it 6-1.
Spokane put the game away in the fifth, capitalizing on defensive miscues while adding RBI hits from Struck and Lapano to reach the 10-1 final.
At the plate, Cooke led the way with two hits and two RBIs, while Lapano added two RBIs. Swanson chipped in with an RBI triple, and Spokane totaled 12 hits in the win.
In the circle, Samantha Rensvold earned the win, allowing one run over four innings, while Cassy Seifert closed it out with a scoreless frame.

Spokane carried its momentum into Game 2, erupting for 12 runs and holding Blue Mountain to just three hits in another run-rule victory.
After two scoreless innings, Spokane broke through in the third. Samantha Rensvold delivered an RBI single, and Cadence Hyndman launched a two-run home run to give the Sasquatch a 4-0 lead.
The fourth inning put the game out of reach as Spokane exploded for eight runs. Rensvold added a two-RBI single, Hyndman followed with another two-run hit, and Emma Cooke contributed an RBI single. Additional runs came from Olivia Jore and Emma Oergel as Spokane pushed the lead to 12-0.
Hyndman led the offense with four RBIs, while Rensvold added three RBIs and multiple hits. Oergel finished with three hits and an RBI, and Spokane again totaled 12 hits.
In the circle, Cassy Seifert was dominant, tossing a complete-game shutout while allowing just three hits and striking out eight.
