Spokane Sweeps Doubleheader Against Big Bend
Spokane softball put together a dominant day at home on Saturday, sweeping Big Bend in a doubleheader with an 8-0 win in game one followed by a 9-1 victory in game two.

Spokane wasted no time setting the tone, exploding for four runs in the first inning and never looking back in a run-rule victory.
The Sasquatch capitalized on early opportunities, highlighted by a two-RBI single from Shelby Swanson that brought home the first runs of the game. Spokane continued to apply pressure, taking advantage of defensive miscues to extend the lead to 4-0 after one.
They added another four runs in the fourth inning, using aggressive baserunning and timely hitting to break the game open. Contributions came across the lineup, including RBIs from Allison Lapano, Skyler Struck, and Cadence Hyndman.
In the circle, Samantha Rensvold was dominant, tossing a one-hit shutout while striking out seven over five innings. She kept Big Bend off balance all game, allowing just one baserunner past first base.

Spokane carried that momentum into game two, once again jumping out early and controlling the game from start to finish.
The Sasquatch plated two runs in the first inning on sacrifice flies from Shelby Swanson and Skyler Struck, then added two more in the third to build a 4-0 advantage. Spokane continued to extend the lead with a two-run fourth and additional runs in the fifth and sixth.
Swanson delivered the biggest swing of the game in the sixth inning, blasting a two-run home run to cap off a four-RBI performance. Struck also had a strong outing, driving in two runs with a pair of extra-base hits.
Izabella Hernandez paced the offense from the top, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored, while Spokane showed patience at the plate and aggressive baserunning throughout.
In the circle, Kynlea Toner and Shelby Swanson combined for a strong outing, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out nine.
