Spokane Splits with Walla Walla, Uses Strong Game Two to Secure Series Win
Spokane battled through a pair of tight contests against Walla Walla on May 1, dropping a high-scoring opener before bouncing back with a composed 4–1 win in game two. The Sasquatch combined timely hitting with dominant pitching in the nightcap to earn a split and take the series.

Game 1: Walla Walla 8, Spokane 7
Walla Walla capitalized on early miscues and held off a late Spokane rally to take game one 8–7.
The Warriors struck first and built a 5–0 lead through three innings, taking advantage of defensive errors to generate unearned runs. Spokane chipped away in the fifth inning, scoring three runs behind RBI singles from Shelby Swanson and Cadence Hyndman, along with aggressive baserunning that plated another.
Spokane continued to close the gap in the sixth when Swanson delivered again with an RBI single, cutting the deficit to one.
Walla Walla responded in the top of the seventh with a two-run single from Hailee Nash to extend the lead to 7–4. Spokane answered in the bottom half, rallying with RBI hits from Izabella Hernandez and Emma Oergel to tie the game at 7–7.
However, Walla Walla pushed across the go-ahead run and held on, despite Spokane finishing with 11 hits and drawing six walks in the loss.
Game 2: Spokane 4, Walla Walla 1
Spokane responded with a strong all-around performance in game two, led by a dominant outing in the circle from Cassy Seifert.
The Sasquatch got on the board in the first inning, manufacturing a run before adding to the lead in the third. Cadence Hyndman delivered a sacrifice fly, and Allison Lapano followed with an RBI walk to make it 3–0.
Spokane added an insurance run in the fourth on a two-RBI fielder's choice from Skyler Struck, taking advantage of another defensive miscue.
Seifert took control from there, tossing a complete game while allowing just one run on five hits and striking out eight. Walla Walla's only run came in the sixth inning, but Seifert limited any further damage and closed out the game.
