Sasquatch Complete Doubleheader Sweep Over Columbia Basin in Comeback Fashion
Spokane softball showed resilience and firepower on Saturday, rallying in game one before pulling away in game two to secure a doubleheader sweep over Columbia Basin. The Sasquatch improved to 26-12 overall and 19-3 in conference play with the pair of wins.

Game One: Spokane 8, Columbia Basin 7
Spokane erased multiple deficits and walked it off in dramatic fashion to take game one, 8-7.
Columbia Basin jumped out early, scoring five runs across the first three innings to take a 5-1 lead. The Sasquatch chipped away in the fourth, capitalizing on defensive miscues to plate three runs and cut the deficit to 5-4.
After Columbia Basin added two more in the fifth to extend the lead to 7-4, Spokane continued to battle. Zoie Maughan delivered an RBI single in the fifth, and the Sasquatch pulled within one in the sixth on a bases-loaded walk.
In the seventh, Spokane completed the comeback. With two outs, Skyler Struck delivered the decisive swing, singling and advancing on an error to drive in two runs and seal the 8-7 victory.
Spokane totaled 11 hits in the win, with Maughan leading the way with two hits and two RBIs. Emma Cooke, Shelby Swanson, and Cadence Hyndman each added multi-hit performances.
Game Two: Spokane 8, Columbia Basin 5
The Sasquatch carried that momentum into game two, using a big third inning to secure the sweep with an 8-5 win.
Columbia Basin again struck first, scoring four runs in the second inning. Spokane answered immediately with three runs of their own in the bottom half, highlighted by RBI efforts from Samantha Rensvold, Zoie Maughan, and Emma Oergel.
In the third, Spokane took control. Rachel Nebeker tied the game with an RBI double before the Sasquatch capitalized on another defensive miscue and a two-run single from Oergel to take a 7-4 lead.
Spokane added an insurance run in the fifth on an RBI single from Izabella Hernandez, while Cassy Seifert shut things down in the circle. Seifert tossed a complete game, striking out 12 while allowing just one earned run.
Cadence Hyndman sparked the offense with a perfect 3-for-3 performance and two runs scored, while Oergel drove in three runs to lead the way.
