Spokane Punches Ticket to NWAC Elite 8 With 3–1 Win Over Bellevue
The Sasquatch found their stride on Sunday morning, taking down Bellevue 3–1 and punching their ticket to the NWAC Elite 8.
Spokane Volleyball kept its postseason momentum rolling on Sunday morning, defeating Bellevue 3–1 in the second round of the NWAC Regional Tournament at Highline College. With the victory, the Sasquatch officially punched their ticket to the NWAC Elite 8.
Bellevue jumped ahead early, taking the first set 25–11 as Spokane worked through a slow offensive start. But the Sasquatch responded with poise and intensity, storming back to win three straight sets and seize control of the match.
Spokane evened the score with a convincing 25–16 win in set two, then battled through a hard-fought 25–23 victory in the third frame to swing momentum fully in their favor. The fourth set belonged to the Sasquatch from the opening serve, closing out the match 25–16.
Alexis Stolp fueled the offense with 11 kills and strong blocking, while Kaylee Winterroth delivered one of the most efficient performances of the match, eight kills and seven block assists on .615 hitting. Setter Bailey Jaworski added 15 assists and three aces, and libero Annika Furr anchored the back row with 19 digs.
Aubree Lane and Amanda Naipo also played key roles, combining for 13 kills, 32 digs, and four block assists.
Spokane's blocking was a major storyline, finishing with 16 total blocks to wear down Bellevue's attack.
With the win, the Sasquatch advance to the NWAC Elite 8 and will face Treasure Valley on Friday, November 21 at 2:00 pm. The match will be held in Pasco, Washington, at Columbia Basin College, where Spokane will look to continue its postseason run.
